🕉️ Divine Knowledge:
The Shri Lakshmi Chalisa is a forty-verse devotional prayer dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, light, prosperity, and wisdom.Step-by-Step Lakshmi Puja Vidhi (Ritual):
- Purification (Pavitrakaran)
Clean the entire puja room. Take a bath and wear fresh, clean clothes. Sprinkle a few drops of holy water (Ganga jal) on yourself and around the altar space to purify the surroundings. - Set up the Altar (Chowki)
Place a wooden stool (Chowki) in the East or North-East corner of your room. Spread the red or yellow cloth over it. Gently place the idol or photo of Goddess Lakshmi on the altar. Always place Lord Ganesha to her left, as he is invoked first to remove all obstacles. - Establish the Kalash (Ghatasthapana)
Fill a copper or brass pot with clean water. Place a betel nut, a coin, and some rice inside it. Arrange 5 or 7 mango leaves around the neck of the pot, and place a husked coconut wrapped in a red cloth on top. Place this Kalash on a small bed of rice grains next to the deity. - Light the Lamp and Pray to Ganesha
Light the ghee or oil Diya and the incense sticks. Close your eyes and pray to Lord Ganesha first. Seek his blessings by chanting a simple mantra: "Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha." - Offerings to Goddess Lakshmi
Apply a tilak of Kumkum and turmeric to the forehead of the Lakshmi idol. Offer the fresh flowers, fruits, and sweets. Sprinkle a few grains of uncooked rice (Akshat) at her feet as a token of respect. - Recite the Lakshmi Chalisa and Mantras
Sit comfortably before the altar and recite the forty verses of the Shri Lakshmi Chalisa that you practiced earlier. You can also chant her seed mantra 108 times using a rosary:
“Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalaalaye Praseed Praseed Shreem Hreem Shreem Om Mahalakshmaye Namaha.” - Perform the Aarti and Conclude
Wave a lit camphor or a Diya in a clockwise motion in front of the deity while singing the Lakshmi Aarti (Om Jai Lakshmi Mata). After the Aarti, bow down to seek forgiveness for any mistakes made during the ritual. Distribute the offered sweets (Prasad) to your family members
